The fantastical characters revealed in the reverse intaglio crystals of our Close Encounters collections step into the real world.
The bird and fish, the whale and his beloved cactus and teacup, each become the protagonists of their own stories. The mermaid, the seahorse, the ladybird and the crab set off on their own adventures.
Working in titanium and enamel with gold and gemstone details allowed us to bring the characters to life in three dimensions – a technically demanding feat for our atelier team. Each character is created with great attention, ensuring they feel truly alive and that they are faithful to their original depictions.
Their animated forms decorate rings with delicate gold accents: the mermaid with her cherry-red treasures, the whale carrying a tiny cactus, and a coffee cup with its golden saucer. These rings are paired with twisted and vibrant gold bands, enriched with enamel to complement the more elaborate centrepiece designs.
In our pendants we have created a space for our characters to call home – a sanctuary inspired by the vibrant colours and rich decoration of traditional Mexican Nichos. These miniature homes celebrate their magical and enchanting souls. These decorative niches, deeply rooted in Mexican folk art, became the perfect little dwellings for our characters, each represented with carefully chosen symbolic details.
Whimsical cherry flower blossoms and stars decorate earrings and joyous sets of pavé and enamel hoops.
