FOPE's story is one of four generations of the Cazzola family and nearly a century of Italian goldsmithing innovation. Umberto Cazzola opened his first workshop in Vicenza in 1929, beginning a family tradition that would continually combine traditional jewelry-making with engineering and experimentation. His son Odino transformed the workshop into an advanced manufacturing operation, while the next generation, Umberto and Ines, developed the signature Novecento gold mesh that became central to FOPE's design identity.
That spirit of innovation ultimately produced Flex'it, FOPE's patented system of tiny 18-karat gold springs hidden within its woven gold links, giving fine jewelry an unexpected flexibility and ease. Fourth-generation Giulia Cazzola helped bring the family's distinctly Vicentine approach to an international audience, including establishing FOPE's presence in New York. Today, the house remains defined by the same idea that has guided the Cazzola family from the beginning: Italian craftsmanship should evolve through innovation without losing its soul.
