Our Beginning
Founded with Chicago. Built for generations.
In February 1837, Elijah Peacock opened the House of Peacock at 155 1/2 Lake Street. The following month, Chicago was officially chartered as a city.
CD Peacock grew alongside Chicago, moving with the rhythm of the city and serving families, civic leaders and collectors through eras of expansion, resilience and reinvention.
