The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Tourbillon represents an extraordinary achievement in mechanical watchmaking, combining one of horology's most celebrated complications with the elegance of a traditional dress watch. Its refined 41 mm stainless steel case frames a beautifully balanced silver dial, featuring a prominent tourbillon at six o'clock, a 24-hour second-time-zone display, and a distinctive pointer-date indication.
Powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre's automatic caliber 978, the watch features a one-minute rotating tourbillon designed to counteract the effects of gravity on the regulating mechanism. Particularly ingenious is its patented date display, which makes an enlarged jump between the 15th and 16th, ensuring that the date hand never obstructs the view of the tourbillon. This thoughtful integration of mechanical complexity and visual harmony reflects the exceptional technical expertise of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
HISTORICAL & COLLECTIBLE SIGNIFICANCE
The tourbillon has long been regarded as one of the most prestigious expressions of fine watchmaking, requiring exceptional precision in its construction and adjustment. The Master Tourbillon is particularly compelling for bringing this sophisticated complication into a restrained stainless steel design, combining technical achievement with understated elegance. It remains a distinctive example of Jaeger-LeCoultre's mastery of haute horlogerie.
